2011 Ford Edge | Ford Edge

The 2011 Ford Edge will be offered in HySeries drive, which uses real world version technology that is currently used in Ford Airstream concept model. It was unveiled at 2007 Detroit Auto Show.

It will use hydrogen fuel cell powered series hybrid powertrain. The weight of the model will be 1000 pounds more than the conventional Edge model.

Fuel Economy

The powertrain in the 2011 Edge model will contain 5 basic parts- lithium-ion battery pack, fuel cell, two electric motors and a hydrogen tank.

The SUV model can run up to 25 miles on electricity alone. With the powerful engine, the crossover SUV can achieve combined fuel economy of 41 miles per gallon.

The standard features to be included in the 2011 Edge model are trip computer, compass, four wheel independent suspension, multi link rear suspension, clock, Macpherson strut front suspension, external temperature display, front and rear stabilizer bar, and low fuel warning system.

Trim Features

The next generation SUV model, 2011 Ford Edge will be equipped with full fledged safety features like traction control, rear door child safety locks, electronic brakeforce distribution, stability control, dual front side mounted air bags, four wheel antilock braking system, tire pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, front and rear height adjustable headrests and remote anti-theft alarm system.
