Ford launches its all new 2011 Ford Edge Sport, which promises to overcome the issues it had in 2007 release, mainly engine performance.

Engine and Transmission

Sport comes with 3.7 liter DOHC V6 cylinder engine with 24 variable valves. The SUV offers a whopping horsepower of 305 hp @ 6,500 rpm and produces torque of 280 ft-lbs. @ 4000 rpm.

It is a gas based engine with the vehicles turning circle of 38.6 ft. Edge comes with front wheel drive and the engine is coupled to 6 speed shiftable automatic transmission.

Exterior and Interior

The exterior of the model has changed drastically including change in rear and front fascias. The vehicle stands on polished alloy wheels of 22 inches. It is lased with chrome grille, rear spoiler, variable intermittent wipers, privacy glass and rear defogger.

A peep under the roof shows 8-way power driver seat with height adjustability, multi-level heating and power adjustable lumbar support. Also we see bucket style front seats and 6-way power passenger seats. The model comes with cruise control, cargo net, interior air filtration and cargo area light.

Fuel Economy and Pricing

The SUV gives a mileage of 18 mpg on city roads and 25 mpg on highways. The MSRP of the model is $36,220.

The new 2011 Ford Edge Sport is a true performance oriented SUV now, unlike its predecessor which were just tough on the outside and had little to offer performance wise.
